World beating cyber security teams are gathering in Orlando, Florida, home of the Walt Disney World Resort and the Harry Potter Wizarding World, for a training event from 7th – 14th April, where they will be recognised as winners of the SANS Best of 2016 awards.

Founded in 1989, the SANS Institute is the world’s largest provider of cyber security training, operating across 40 countries and with more than 125,000 alumni.

“The SANS Best of Awards were created to showcase solutions from around the world that are making a difference by reducing the business impact of cyberattacks in real world applications,” said John Pescatore, Director of Emerging Security Trends, at SANS.

The Institute says the SANS Best of Awards are not driven by vendors, but by the people actually using these products, and are an extension of the SANS WhatWorks Program which creates awareness of security programmes and solutions that are actually being used to stop bad guys and improve security.

The winners of the SANS Best of 2016 award included, for Vulnerability Assessment, Tenable Nessus, for Next Generation Firewall, Palo Alto Networks PA Series, for Advanced Threat Detection, FireEye Network NX, for End Point Protection, Cylance PROTECT, for Application Security, Qualys Web Application Scanning (WAS), for SIEM, LogRhythm Security Intelligence Platform, for Threat Intelligence, CrowdStrike Falcon Intelligence, and for Endpoint Detection/Response, Carbon Black Platform.
